TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.
Posted on October 10, 2007If you are getting this error after testing your Flash program, it’s because some variable (or “term”) has not been initialized (or “undefined and has no properties”).
If you run it in debug mode, you can find out what’s causing it by looking for a returned value of NaN. Go back in your code and set the offending variable(s) to a specific value, 0 always works.
Oddly, your program may work and you’ll never see this, but one day it will crop up out of nowhere, it’s a little frustrating to figure out. So, with that in mind, the best rule of thumb here is, INITIALIZE all your variables, including arrays.
